Describe the bug

Owncloud clients on many machines keeps disconnecting approx. every week, requiring user to re-connect in the client (it's of course worse, because this fails silently, and users don't realize that their files aren't being synced).

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install & Setup OCIS
  2. Install & Setup Client
  3. Log in on client
  4. Wait a week

Expected behavior

Client to stay logged in

Actual behavior

Client disconnects after a week, requiring re-authentication

Setup

Owncloud Client 5.2.1 on Windows
Owncloud Infinite Scale Server 4.0.2 installed on "bare metal" on Xubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

  • with certbot

Happy to provide any logs, though it is still unclear to me how to get these logs.

@Thaddeus-Maximus is this problem new? If yes, did yo change something with your setup? Or did you always have the problem?

I'm seeing you are running ocis in 4.0.2. Could you maybe update it to a recent 5.0 version and see if the problem persists?

@kobergj This has always been a problem.

I just updated to 5.0.5 - we'll see if the problem persists.

@Thaddeus-Maximus If you are using ocis in the default config, the refresh token for the desktop client has a lifetime of 30 days.

That means, your behavior is considered as wrong because the re-authentication should be after 30 days.

@TheOneRing @dragotin I think we need help from the client team.

@Thaddeus-Maximus We would need client logs to look into that.
