In 4.2.0.M2 you cannot add devices via DNS name only IP works. In 4.1.1 and before it worked with both IP and DNS names.
If I add devices via IP everything works as expected. Via DNS name devices switch into state OFFLINE / COMMUNICATION_ERROR
error description states:
Unable to connect to device - Unable to connect to 192.168.178.177shelly-hwr-licht.lan (Unknown host / Network down / Low signal)
This looks like the DNS name and IP are concatenated.
Tested with 4.2.0.M2 on docker.

Note: The DEV build is always newer than the version in the official Distro or Milestone builds. Current development is based on 4.2-SNAPSHOT, 4.0.x, 4.1.x and 3.4.x are outdated.
