Now ONNX has the build option ONNX_ML to able/disable operators under ai.onnx.ml domain and their related functionalities. By default official onnx package will ship the full functionality including ai.onnx.ml domain. This build option (ONNX_ML) can be useful for upstream/downstream tools for saving binary when they does not support ONNX_ML. However, this build option might also bring unnecessary duplication and complication. And what if onnx brings more domains in the future: shall onnx brings more similar build options accordingly? This question is open to discuss. I am also wondering currently is there any real use case for ONNX_ML=0? Any feedback is welcome.
