How do I capture the result of a custom command?

I can run a test like so that captures and displays the result of the waitForElementPresent command ...

module.exports = {
    'Test': async (browser) => {
        browser.url('https://magellanrx.com/member')
        result = await browser.waitForElementPresent('#okta-signin-submit', 15000)
        console.log(result)
    }
}

How would I write a custom command that works the same way ... returning a result which I could then capture?
For example, I want to do something like this ...

    'Test': async (browser) => {
        browser.url('https://magellanrx.com/member')
        result = await browser.myOwnCustomCommand('#okta-signin-submit', 15000)
        console.log(result)
    }

Please, look at short example (we used it for frame change, just update it to your needs).

    command(selector, callback) {

        return new Promise(async (resolve) => {
            await this.api.element(using, selector, (result) => {

This example will return a value that you can get as a return (no need to use callback in the custom method).
This method for instance returns boolean if browser logs of given type is present in browsers' console providing that specific string pattern is within the logs
