Chrome tabs crash with pdf.js with Error code: STATUS_BREAKPOINT as of Chrome Canary 126.0.6473.0 #18081

Configuration:

  • Web browser and its version: Chrome 126.0.6473.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) (cohort: Clang-64)
  • Operating system and its version: Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045
  • PDF.js version: 3.9.49, 4.3.21
  • Is a browser extension: Yes

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Open any pdf file in pdf.js

What is the expected behavior? (add screenshot)
File should open

What went wrong? (add screenshot)
Tab crashes (Aw, Snap) after a couple of seconds with Error code: STATUS_BREAKPOINT

Link to a viewer (if hosted on a site other than mozilla.github.io/pdf.js or as Firefox/Chrome extension):

Notes:
Started with 126.0.6473.0 and continues into 126.0.6476.0.
Doesn't happen in 126.0.6452.3 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) (cohort: Dev) .
I opened bug report https://issues.chromium.org/issues/339898769 for Chrome.

Seems to have been fixed in 126.0.6477.3 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) (cohort: Clang-64)
