When you build Android, you get asked the repo and the only option is Android Monorepo, which is now deprecated. If you select it, you get proposed obsolete branches.

The workaround is to not select the repo and go directly to the 3rd field which then has beta or release as options:

We should just remove the repository select from the UI as this is confusing.
