The Maintenance Team section within the Release Notes page is mentioning Oprypin as a Team member.
Since he now left MkDocs it would be good to update the docs accordingly to reflect on this.

However, to honor the work he did, I propose that instead of removing his name from the page, instead put him in a "Retired Team Member" section to show that they have resigned.

I think the "current maintainers" section should exactly state who are the current maintainers (listing the people in the core team probably? not sure). Additionally, we could have a historical section listing the persons who were maintainers in the past but not anymore 🙂 Or we could also drop all this and let people check contributions on GitHub: https://github.com/mkdocs/mkdocs/graphs/contributors 🤷

Are we able to make this page https://github.com/orgs/mkdocs/teams/core publicly visible?

Or we could also drop all this and let people check contributions on GitHub: https://github.com/mkdocs/mkdocs/graphs/contributors 🤷

Yep, that'd be a fantastic alternative.
