Steps:

  • checkout vscode-loc (https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-loc) as a sibiling of vscode
  • build the standalone editor (yarn run gulp editor-distro)
  • use the standalone editor in a German setup. Ensure that most of the strings are translated (since VS Code is not fully translated right now the editor isn't either).
