Externalize application.yml file using Kubernetes ConfigMaps

I am new to Micronaut and am trying to figure out how to externalize a services application.yml file using Kubernetes ConfigMaps. So far I have added a bootstrap.yml file that is setup as shown here:

I also have setup a ConfigMap called config that contains the key retrieve-service.yml and the value is the file contents. I created the config map using:
"kubectl create configmap config --from-file=retrieve-service.yml"
When I check the logs I am seeing:
"i.m.d.c.c.DistributedPropertySourceLocator - Resolved 0 configuration sources from client: compositeConfigurationClient()"

Here is my bootstrap.yml:

micronaut:
  application:
    name: retrieve-service
  config-client:
    enabled: true
---
kubernetes:
  client:
    config-maps:
      includes:
        - config

In my build.gradle I have:

...
dependencies {
...
    implementation "io.micronaut.kubernetes:micronaut-kubernetes-discovery-client:1.1.0"
...

@darrenSchlager which Micronaut version are you using? Can you share a sample application?

I am using version 1.3.5

Are there any specific files that would be helpful for me to share? I could create a similar sample application if needed, but is there anything that you can think of that I could be missing or could try first?

Currently I am manually building a docker image, pushing it into Harbor, and deploying in Kubernetes with a Helm Chart.

I would need to have a reproducible application that I can test in a local Kubernetes cluster.

Loading configuration from ConfigMaps is functionally tested and should be working. But there could be an edge case I didn't anticipate for. So in order to debug it, I need a sample application.

I decided to try to get this working using Spring Cloud Config Server instead of Kubernetes ConfigMaps
