Hi maplibre!
It would be awesome if maplibre-gl-native would support non-mertcator projections, mainly EPSG:4326, it seems like it was a long-existing request to the mapbox-gl-js but not until recently they decided to work on it, ref mapbox/mapbox-gl-js#3184 (comment)

relates also to maplibre/maplibre-gl-js#166 maplibre/maplibre-gl-js#168

That would be good to have indeed. See also https://roadmap.maplibre.org/c/91-custom-coordinate-system-epsg-non-mercator-projection

Hello
I use MapLibre Native for Android and MapLibe GL GS for desktop projects. My geoserver is Geoserver. My current maps in web-mercator projection (3856). MapLibre works great!
Now my customer would like to use EPSG:4326 projection. I don't have enough experience to modify MapLibre itself, but I would like to fund non-staff developers to implement the issue. Is it possible? How can I do that?

@remennikovge Wet Dog Weather has taken on a big project like this. You could try reaching out to them if you are serious about it. https://www.wetdogweather.com/blog/maplibre-commitment

It is also on the roadmap of MapLibre, and we do want to support this effort with our own financial reserves: https://maplibre.org/roadmap/non-mercator-projection/
