otherwise yes if starting from vanilla npx react-native@latest init AwesomeProject or npx react-native@0.68.0 init AwesomeProject --version 0.68.0 we'd need to run with RCT_NEW_ARCH_ENABLED=1 unless we add it to Podfile (further details here)
