Hi,
I just released Jdbi 3.39.1. The 3.39.x series of releases will be the last ones to support JDK 8.
The burden to maintain Java 8 compatibility has grown over time and a lot of our dependencies have moved on so we had to hold back some upgrades and add workarounds to support Java 8.
Any minor release going forward (3.40.x and beyond) will support Java 11+. Java 11 will go obsolete with the release of Java 21 LTS this fall and security fixes will be end by the end of 2026.
We might start to be a bit more aggressive in upgrading our Java requirements. With most of the growing pains for Java releases behind us, companies have become more comfortable with upgrading their runtime.
Jakarta EE 9 support Java 8, Jakarta EE 10 (which is the current release) has Java 11 as its baseline and supports Java 17. The upcoming Jakarta EE 11 release will use Java 21 as its baseline.
