For testing:

import pefile

pe = pefile.PE("filename.exe")
print(pe.OPTIONAL_HEADER.CheckSum)
print(pe.generate_checksum())
result = pe.verify_checksum()
pe.close()
print(result)
print(type(result))
# pe.write("filename.exe")
