After updateing the wallet from the gui, i started the update task twice, and after restart, (I killed the wallet after no reaction.
) the following message appears.

"Error launching wallet.
There was a fatal error launching the wallet.
Failed to load Electron preload script."

Version

Which version of Trinity are you running? (Please provide the full version, you can find it in Settings > About Trinity).

  • Version:
    1.5.2 desktop on linux debian.
About Trinity is not available, nothing happens.

Hardware specification

What hardware are you using?

  • Desktop:

  • Device:

  • OS and version:
    Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)

  • RAM (Desktop only):
    MemTotal: 8119004 kB

  • Number of cores (Desktop only):
    4 cores i7

Steps To reproduce the bug

Explain how the maintainer can reproduce the bug.

  1. After updateing the wallet from the gui, (the version before 1.6.1), i started the update from the red popup
    nothing happens after a wihle.

  2. start update over menu

  3. I killed the wallet after no reaction from task manager

  4. the file name has the name of the version 1.6.1

  5. I downloaded and started the version 1.6.1 but same error message.

Expected behaviour

  • Normal start after update.

  • Some user output during update is a typical feature, which would be nice to see some progress. For example, ..downloading.. ..updating.. ..restart.. some protokoll ?

  • Allow only one update process.

Actual behaviour

Error message:
"Error launching wallet.
There was a fatal error launching the wallet.
Failed to load Electron preload script."

Can not start the wallet anymore. Download and running Version 1.6.1 shows the same error.

Errors

When starting from console there is one message:
./trinity-desktop-1.6.1.AppImage
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/fonts.conf", line 100: unknown element "blank"
