I was not able to find the support for highlighing Media files and taking screenshots. Sorry if the feature already exist or in plan, if not, then do we have any plans to support it?

With "highlighting media files", do you mean being able to annotate directly on images/videos, or being able to select an embedded media the same way you can select text, and add an annotation/highlight to it?

As per "taking screenshots", can you elaborate what you mean?

I mean using someway to add notes on the media files on the page, it can be either or both of below

  1. Using embedded URL of the media file on the web page
  2. Using to take screenshots of the page including both the text and image appearing on it. similar to https://evernote.com/features/webclipper

For YouTube videos specifically we have a custom annotation tool at https://via.hypothes.is. We don't have support for annotating videos or other types of media files yet. Annotation of images is planned, but I can't promise when that will ship.

We don't have support for capturing screenshots of the page. This is a feature that would be limited to the browser extension if we did add it, since I believe only browser extensions have access to the necessary browser capabilities.

I have tried using https://via.hypothes.is/, found it very useful for transcripts.
Re. "Annotation of images is planned" , in which repo is this item added, would be great if you can share the link to the issue.
