I want to add some words or HTML tags or markdowns into index, and keep the generated index rendered to, all solution I find can only create a custom index and remove this plugin, but I don't want to remove this plugin's index.

Is there anyway to keep both of those?

I have the same question too, also seeking if any options support showing a written page rather than a generated index.
(i.e. Showing the 'about' page as index rather than generate a summary of all my posts.)

I also have the same need, any suggestion?

Then your solution is in modifying the theme
Creating a page that will become your root page
