When I grab a widget and move down, widgets jump around on the screen

Why when I grab a widget and move down, does the widget move very, very, very fast? When I move the mouse quickly, the widgets jump around on the screen and it's very hard to arrange them.

Expected behavior

With more widgets (exceeding the viewport) the widgets do not jump. Grabbing the widget and moving down does not have the effect of jumping down very quickly.

I was really hoping @VincentMolinie would contribute his workaround instead of fixing it outside of the lib... disapointed in lack of contributions.
