April 27, 2024 Community Call

Notes:

• The community call Event is still listed under the wrong time in Discord (though the correct time for today's meeting displays for some, but not all, users). TangerineShark messaged Lexander, and the issue has now been fixed.
• Thrunic is almost finished with the documentation for Opal and hopes to submit it by next meeting.
• Tim A Holmes' with Blender and Garment Tool to generate 3D clothing models from FreeSewing patterns.
  • Demonstration of an Aaron pattern turned into a 3D model.
  • Garment Tool converts curves to garments.
  • Joost: We'll look into what can be changed in FreeSewing to facilitate turning patterns into 3D models.
  • Having labeled notches to designate seam start/end points could help.
• "New Design" Discussion posts on GitHub that have been inactive since January: Ben will close the inactive Discussions and notify both Darigov Research and the Discord community to let them know about this. To let them know about the Discussion closures, to make people aware that the Discussions exist, and so if in the future active discussion resumes for a given design, the Discord Discussion can be re-opened.
• Migrating images to Cloudflare, is this something that regular users can help to do? Joost: At the moment there is no easy way to add images to Cloudflare, so there isn't an easy way for regular users to help do this. Joost will see if things can be set up to make this to happen.
• Joost: Flagging impossible measurements is something we can work on in the next few months.
• Web of Trust, what specific accesses and permissions are gated by it? Joost: Specifically, write access to the GitHub repository.
