Result from variable version different with static version?

Im working with Astro and TailwindCSS in my side project and tried to use fontsource for the first time when I realized some behaviour that I'm not sure wether this was actually a bug or a feature.

I'm following instruction per this instruction for variable version and it was quoted that I can import it this way to get all weights available

// Supports weights 100-800
import '@fontsource-variable/sora';

So in Layout.astro I imported that way, but this is the result. It seems that the weight that loaded was only 5, I guess?
But when I import it the other way, using the static version, the result is as expected with 8 weights.

import '@fontsource/sora/200.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/300.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/400.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/500.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/600.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/700.css';
import '@fontsource/sora/800.css';

And it's just me or it like slightly different, the static one have a wider character and feels bigger

Left: Variable, Right: Static

For now, I'll just keep using the static one as it feels nicer.
But I just want to know, is this kind of a bug, or just compatibility issue, or an expected behaviour that variable and static have different result?

My bad, Im importing Sora instead of Sora Variable in my tailwind.coonfig. Everythings good.
