Context

This request is getting too close to CMS, but I think since the audience is for academics, I think it would go a long way to have some basic CV, lab page themes etc.

The idea is that a lab could setup a myst.yaml that controls/combines the individual articles that they have, but on top of that, it would make sense to include the people page as well, in which case having a CV like theme would be useful.

I have been thinking of plain sphinx, but I couldn't find a single-page theme that could fit, on the other hand, the article theme is already close to what you would need

Proposal

Adapt article theme to consume CV-like data. Initially, this would be very minimal, where the actual content like education, experience, etc. would be formatted manually in MD, but eventually should look into what content makes sense to generalize in the yaml frontmatter.

I need to play around to see what is missing in article theme, but for now on the top of the head I am thinking:

  • profile-picture
  • bio: birth date, current location, gender, nationality, etc.
    • bonus if this can be obfuscated, maybe with a simple encryption key
  • current-employment/position
