This is actually IE9 running IE7 mode as saucelabs IE7 can't access the tests for some reason.

fwiw this works just fine in normal IE 7 - but I can reproduce 9 failures in IE 9 in IE 7 mode (there's no substitute for checking in the actual browser).

I wasn't sure if that may be a/the problem, I just couldn't test with actual IE7 due to it not being able to reach the server. I guess this can be closed, or are you fixing things for compat mode?

Generally I don't worry about compat mode - however, it'd still be nice to handle it if possible, so I'll leave it open for now.
