does the new async thread offloading feature work for logging to stdout/stderr?

hey, ive been looking for a good rust logging library to use in a very latency-sensitive project. i log exclusively to stdout, and i would like a library that just offloads a reference or a buffer of bytes to a thread in the background that finishes up the string formatting + logging. i saw the new async filewriter feature in 0.18, but does it only work for logging to a file? looking at the code it seems so, but i want to double check

Meanwhile versions 0.18.1 and 0.19 are out, the feature is available!

hey, just tried now, getting this error on 0.19 on macOS:

hey so 0.19.2 builds fine on macOS but now on linux i get this issue:
