How do I create a nativeAOT application and library for iOS & iOS Simulator?

This document mentions that support for creating native AOT apps/libraries for iOS and iOS Simulator are in experimental stage, but I could not find a sample repo which I can test it on?

Does anyone know of such repo which can help me confirm the setup I have is good to go?

If I download runtime repo and follow the Additional notes from #93658, I run into error - error : The shared framework must be built before the local targeting pack can be consumed.

FYI: I am using .NET 9.0.100-preview

@simonrozsival Thanks for checking it on your end. Just to confirm, after clonning, are these the steps you followed?

1. Run Xcode, open Preferences, and on the Locations tab, change "Command Line Tools" to point to this installation of Xcode.app.
2. brew bundle --no-lock --file eng/Brewfile
3. ./build.sh --subset clr -c Release

Could you also confirm the version of toolchains being used. Here are mine...

• CMake: 3.29.0
• icu4c: 74.2
• openssl@1.1 or openssl@3: openssl@3/3.2.1
• pkg-config: 0.29.2_3
• python3: 3.12.2_1
• ninja (optional, enables building native code with ninja instead of make): not installed

Also, does it matter if we are using .NET 8 or .NET 9?

@Take-A-Byte I have the same versions (except for CMake 3.28.0). Which version of Xcode do you have?

Strange. I'm using 15.2 version of XCode & 14.2.1 version of MacOS

I'm on Xcode 15.3. Try updating Xcode and give it another go. If that doesn't solve the problem, please open an issue.

Found the issue. The terminal was using the clang installed using homebrew. After uninstalling llvm, it started using the one from xcode. Now, clr builds fine 🚀
