Items not logged in .binlog

From a .binlog recorded with the Project System Tools extension that @AArnott sent me I don't see Items logged for a project, just properties.

This could be an MSBuild bug, but I see items logged properly during regular command-line builds.

I just hit this one today with version 1.0.1.2010501

I'm experiencing this with VS2022 + Project System Tools 2022 1.0.2.2205601 and msbuild 17.1.0.7609.
It is working as expected with VS2017 + Project System Tools 2017 1.0.1.2131701 and msbuild 15.9.21.664.

Compiling on the command line (dotnet msbuild -bl) does produce a log containing items with msbuild 17.1.
Perhaps a side effect of how the extension tries to split the logs into individual projects? The command line build is an all-in-one.
