During the course of developing an e-commerce platform for restaurants, I also developed a .NET reactivity framework for building line-of-business apps of any kind. Prior to the pandemic, I started promoting the framework at various Meetup events. When the pandemic hit, I shifted focus to the online ordering technology which you can now see in action at https://www.siamlewisburg.com/ . That's the consumer-facing front-end that utilizes the same domain model as my UWP point-of-sale app.
Unlike my presentations pre-pandemic, I can now point to software that's actually working in the field as proof that my approach does work. With the advent of MAUI, I'm wondering if there may be interest out there in me open sourcing my framework. That's something I talked about previously, but haven't yet gotten around to.
My framework is pretty cool. It lends reactivity to .NET apps. This is reactivity not just like simple data-binding. Rather, this is reactivity throughout your domain and view models. Not just that, but it's proven a great way to separate business logic and eliminate large swaths of boiler-plate code. Personally, I can't imagine developing in .NET without it. I'm not sure how any of you can put up with the lack of such a paradigm in your day to day work. I would go nuts with boredom due to the tedium of churning out repetitive code.
Please check it out at https://www.chainreact.net/ . I'd love to hear your feedback. I can give demos to anyone who's interested.
