Important dates:

• May 1, 2024 is the end of Xamarin Official Support
• May 14, 2024 is the end of .NET 7 official support
• August 31, 2024 is the retirement of Visual Studio for Mac
• April 2025 likely the latest time Apple App Store will accept Xamarin apps built with Xcode 15 (source)
• August 2025 likely the latest time Google Play Store will accept Xamarin apps targeting API 34 (source)

EOS refers to the Xamarin End of Support.

Will my apps continue to work after May 1, 2024?

Yes. The apps will continue to work, and the EOS date has no impact on their inclusion in the Apple and Google stores, or on user's devices.

Will I be able to continue building my applications after May 1, 2024?

Yes. Using the last supported version of Visual Studio 2022 on both Windows and Mac prior to EOS will continue to work for building apps. Building from Azure Pipelines after EOS may require additional steps to acquire the dependencies needed to build Xamarin apps.

Will I be able to continue servicing my applications in the public app stores after May 1, 2024?

Yes. The last version of Xamarin for Android and iOS are compliant with the respective app store policies up to the dates noted above. This only applies to existing applications.

Can I build new applications with Xamarin and submit them to the public app stores after May 1, 2024?

No. You can use .NET MAUI in that case to be compliant with the respective app store policies for new app submissions.

Will I be able to get support upgrading my project from Xamarin to .NET MAUI (.NET for Android, .NET for iOS) after May 1, 2024?
