I'm using Hostinger servers, with Let's Encrypt SSL installed, and I'm not able to configure the plugin over HTTPS. The HTTP works well, but it doesn't sync.
Wordpress version: 4.9.6-pt_BR
Disqus Plugin version: 3.0.16

Don't use Disqus. It seems like @ryanvalentin keeps promising that a fix is coming, but nothing. There are numerous issues here:

#14

#35

And many others.

@ryanvalentin, are you really working on this? Or making promises but not delivering?

I told my friend to delete Disqus on her website because of this. I am pretty proficient in computers but I don't want to be fooling around with configuration files on her WordPress setup and her site doesn't load.

If you need details: here's her WordPress install:

Host: 1&1 Internet Linux cloud server running Debian 9
WordPress version: 4.9.6

The only solution is to use 2.86 of the WordPress plugin, unfortunately.

It's sad that a newer version broke functionality crucial to many WordPress users, https.

As we continue to investigate syncing issues, please let us know the results of the "Troubleshooting" steps we have outlined here https://help.disqus.com/import-export-and-syncing/syncing-with-wordpress.
