Consider adding an option to store the latest exchange error along in the exchange state

We could add a feature to exchangers or to exchanges to enable storing the last error that occurred when an exchange was used -- along with the exchange state. This would enable parties able to retrieve the exchange state to determine the latest error that occurred, which could be helpful with debugging.
