I am trying to use the simapp and run the tx.
It is giving me the following error
key with address cosmos1py20nc57y5qex9uq3jzpqtwn565jt72xwddsvw not found: key not found [cosmos/cosmos-sdk@v0.50.0/crypto/keyring/keyring.go:512]

Can anyone please help me, what I am doing wrong?

Actually I need to run the tx to learn about the complete tx flow. But it ask for the key rather than the private key which was the case in earlier versions.
Can you please define me what is the significance of key here?

I suspect that you are using different home directory (using --home flag) or the account doesn't have any funds.

To give some more context, the testnet comprises of 2 nodes and I executed this :
build/simd tx staking delegate cosmosvaloper1h5h0snf5lcuvl26mflx38md93cma9k4ael7ceu 1000stake --from cosmos1c6kmecp2eayf6awn9fe9vg0458rwlqttwuermv --keyring-backend test --keyring-dir .testnets/chain-716NS0/keyring-test

which returns the aforementioned error.

Now in this cosmosvaloper1h5h0snf5lcuvl26mflx38md93cma9k4ael7ceu is one of the validators. Is it somehow possible to use this validator's key to sign and send txs ?

You can do that, you have to execute the commands from the node in which the keys are created. Check the keys list to ensure the accounts that you want to use are existed in the node. you can check the keys list using ./simd keys list --keyring-backend=test --keyring-dir={your_keyring_dir_name}

Since this is a local testnet, all node directories are created in the same machine. And I actually initated the testnet like so :
build/simd testnet start --v 2 --output-dir ./.testnets --enable-logging

Running ./simd keys list with and without keyring-x flags returns this :
No records were found in keyring

it is working for me as expected.
