In the blockfile snapshotter testsuite, the initial scratch file size is set based on the system page size (0c386e2eb#diff-5127e16713ba51ac58a224116f8a35708ecbf8ffa2c0572f5af58ddf7c056347R40-R43). This has caused the "128LayersMount" test to crash on the ppc64le architecture when the disk space is smaller than 100GB. The ppc64le system has a larger page size, making each snapshot file at least 650MB which completely fills up the disk space before the test finishes.
I've run the test on the same system, keeping the scratch file size to 128MB and the test succeeds. Is there a need for this page size check beyond performance? Could this page size check potentially be removed or is the preferred solution to increase the system disk size?
