Investigate Dynamic Bundles Search Category not returning Categories

Investigate report of "Can’t create any dynamic bundle entity because the search of category didn’t work. The search does not return any category, despite the fact that the categories are created." Note: I tried this briefly against the sunrise data and it did return the t-shirt categories.
