With #3 done (excepted for the advanced options like #1165), I think we're pretty much ready for a 1.0. We haven't had big bug reports in months and things feel pretty solid. We're used by several github actions, other tools, and, directly or indirectly, many projects.

Unfortunately we lost the original list of things to do before 1.0 because github ditched the team discussion feature, but I had a look through the issue list and I don't think there's anything major missing right now.

Improvements we can land later:

• signing/checksums
• UI if we decide to improve it
• some kind of cargo binstall tools subcommand (Feature: install from manifest #176) if we/I ever try that again
• dist-manifest.json compatibility

I don't think any of these are big missing pieces in the current state.

(This would be a 1.0 of the CLI, not the lib which we'll keep perma-unstable for the foreseeable future.)
