Description

When clicking links in programs such as Outlook, mIRC, Phonelink, Discord, etc the link will not open if Brave is the default browser. If I change to Chrome or Firefox then it opens fine.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Make Brave your default browser
    2.Click a link

Actual result:

Nothing happens.

Expected result:

Browser window should open with the link

Reproduces how often:

Easily reproduced

Brave version (brave://version info)

1.65.123
Some person through it was smart to now allow you to copy the version number from the About Brave page. Genius.

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? No

  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? No
