Describe the solution you'd like
IntelliJ and VS Code both automatically wrap selected text as expected when any of the following keys are pressed:

  • '
  • "
  • [
  • (
  • {

It might be nice to be able to programmatically disable this behavior as well

Are there any workarounds?
No, you have to manually type the opposite quote or bracket.
