I have created a simple custom module, using the CSV module as pattern. When I run the standalone jar with the new module inside, I can see that my module gets registered in the server along with the other modules (json, xml, csv, ...). I tweaked the line in the UI to allow a new file type to be shown by the UI when selecting an instance file, and that works. But after selecting an instance file, the UI just hangs, and nothing shows in the server logging. I am guessing there is something else I need to do in the UI to associate the file type with the new module. Any help on adding a new module would be greatly appreciated! I have read through the developer guide's description on the module architecture, but did not see details on how to create a new one. Nor did I see the topic discussed here. |

Never mind, I figured it out. There are a few places in the UI that explicitly reference the specific services (XML, JSON, etc.), and it is necessary to tweak those places. As a short-term workaround, I "hijacked" the CSV service to provide access to my custom service/module/model/core in Java. It would sure be nice to have a cleaner way to add custom modules to the UI. |
