Currently, two command lines for QC are available in ClinicaDL: one for images processed by t1-linear and one for t1-volume.
The method implemented is based on the work of Fofonov et al.. But latest experiments on the UKBiobank showed that the current QC is not reliable enough.
This is why we are planning to implement a new QC method which is better than the one available in ClinicaDL.
State of the art QC
The first task will be to check what are the SOTA methods and algorithms for QC. This will require to browse the literature on QC and select the method that is the more suited to our problematic and which is also usable in ClinicaDL.
Implementation
Then, we will need to actually integrate it in ClinicaDL.
Further work
A good additional task would be to see if some method are applicable to PET images and other modalities that may be added to ClinicaDL such as FLAIR, T2w...
Basic QC ?
It would also be interesting to discuss if we would like to add a basic QC, a sort of sanity check with basic test (are the image normalized? maybe if there are some basic statistic tests to perform...). That would be quicker and also would be applicable to a broader variety of images!
