would fix the error somehow...

Thanks for the example. Looks like the tar has symlinks inside of it making a Type 2 as the error suggests, something that we don't handle today.

I'll create an issue for this to track it.

Well yes, but the actual problem seems to be that the program does not simply skip the file but exits ungracefully
