Having trouble modifying .anf file as a volume in pyMAPDL

Hi,
I've imported an .anf file and attributed material type to it. However, I'd like to further edit the volume (adding, cutting) using some simple vsbv commands in pyMAPDL. However, I can't select the .anf file as a volume. I've tried launching the GUI using mapdl.vsel("P") but I can't select the .anf model. I've tried mapdl.vsel("ALL") just to select everything, but it returns a NONE array. How can my mapdl.input file be treated as a volume? Thanks!

Yes, sorry about that. Without the CMSEL, S line and just running the following code:

FullPart = mapdl.allsel("ALL","VOLU") returns the folowing: 'SELECT ALL ENTITIES OF TYPE= VOLU AND BELOW'. And not list of volumes. Perhaps use this instead:

mapdl.allsel("ALL","VOLU")
FullPart = mapdl.geometry.vnum[0]

That worked with no errors, but it looks like the original volume disappeared. I've tried changing Part = mapdl.vsbv(nv1 = FullPart, nv2 = CutPart, keep2='DELETE ') to keep2='KEEP',keep1='KEEP', keep1='DELETE but each plot looks like the one below:

Hi @mikerife,
That worked on my end, thanks. It looks like the file I was trying was different than the one I shared with you and it exported the .anf files in m than mm which messed some things up.
I think this may be related to my other question, but I'm unable to view the element plot if I choose SOLID185 (I can if I view SOLID187). I'm trying to stick to an 8-node element due to some research restrictions, is there a particular reason why the model fails when I choose 185?
