To Repro:

  1. Check out f7ba639
  2. Run the app and click on a channel
  3. No error in console, yet members are 0 for every channel

Why? A simple mistake, but the error is completely swallowed by RxJS somehow, despite its methods all rethrowing the Error. We need to make sure as many places as possible
