The following is based on testing the PR Gutenberg Build from this PR:
#36379 (comment)

What problem does this address?

Clicking Sites and Styles make the screen jump and is a choppy experience, and it is also very slow.

What is your proposed solution?

Clicking Sites or Styles should not close left WP menu area.
User can click W to close/open. Creating a smoother experience.
