timeout with less accurate and faster scheduling

I have a use case where I need a timeout but it doesn't have to be accurate. I would like to use something like https://github.com/nodejs/undici/blob/main/lib/util/timers.js.

How would I combine that with rxjs.timeout do I need to pass a custom scheduler or something? Is there any examples of how to achieve that?

Also, could maybe be a good idea to include something like that in rxjs? As I think many times when using rxjs.timeout users don't actually need sub-second accuracy.
