I think it would be nice if there was an official 'PowerShell' command line, customized for PowerShell on Linux. It's just an idea.

Well, if everyone is so against this idea, I'll just ignore it. I was going to develop this myself, but I'm not going to touch it at all.

You are welcome to build it if you think there is a need. My question was really about what is it that you think you are wanting to build. From what you describe it is not PowerShell specific at all, it sounds like a general GUI terminal that is able to customise itself based on multiple different shells that are installed on the system. Then the next step is what would be the starting point for such a project given it would be competing with the terminal programs I already listed, eg kconsole and gnome-terminal and would need to integrate well on a KDE, Gnome or any other desktop.

Depending on the use cases for the new user, for example if they are familiar with Windows but not Linux, or you are expecting them to write PowerShell scripts then I suggest that Visual Studio Code is already that tool.

Since it seems like you're wanting something like Windows Terminal for Linux. Have you tried Tabby? I have not used it personally but looks like it has similar features to Windows Terminal.
