I wanted to test SMTP errors with PHPMailer, but unfortunetely it won't give me any as long as Debug is off.

"phpmailer/phpmailer": "^6.8"
My code:
ErrorInfo:
$obj->getSMTPInstance()->getError():
Using SMTPDebug = 1, I receive this info:
My question is:
Why I don't see SMTP Error in $obj->getSMTPInstance()->getError()? I would like to have SMTP code 535 and error details.
I tried to solve this problem and I found this instruction:
SMTP.php line 1047-1050:
Instruction above is making all SMTP Errors disapear. Removing this code results in:
What am I doing wrong? How to keep all those errors without changing PHPMailer library?
