This article explains how to do this with Jekyll. However, I'm not sure whether all of that is supported by the GitHub version of Jekyll.

Would be good to have some of the core pages also in English.

It's not a priority at the moment (e.g. presentation of March 17th), but I guess we will need both a Dutch and English version.

Our posts are also not too long so it's feasible to translate, we just shouldn't neglect the site for too long.
