Describe the bug
It seems that the navigation menu is no longer accessible in the mobile version of the UserGuide.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to https://userguide.mdanalysis.org/stable/index.html using a mobile device

Expected behavior
I expect to be able to access the navigation menu on mobile too, so that I can navigate the UserGuide.

Actual behavior
There is no navigation menu as far as I can tell, and therefore I have to rely on Google to land on the correct UserGuide page.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: iPhone SE
  • OS: iOS16
  • Browser: Safari/Firefox

From a quick test on my end, the navigation menu seems to be there but as a hidden icon? If you tap on the top left do you get a pop out @RMeli ?

It's also happening on the core library documentation, we probably should migrate this to the sphinx theme repo.

Also the "MDAnalysis UserGuide" text is hidden, and only shows up (in orange) if I try select it.

Probably related to this: readthedocs/sphinx_rtd_theme#1285

Thanks for raising this issue @RMeli and for the comments @IAlibay -- I've migrated it to the mda-sphinx-repo for now. I can verify it also happens on the dev version of the user guide, which is currently using mda-sphinx-theme.

For reference this is what it looks like. There's an invisible (white?) icon and "MDAnalysis user guide" in the top.
