Personaly, i would like to have a special shortcut to enter a TOTP for the current window. In KeePass 2.4.2 you can set a special shortcut for entering only the password and not the whole sequence. Maybe a FR could be, to implment such a shortcut also for TOTP.

This is a really good suggestion by @Offerel that I would also use a lot. It should use the same window name matching thing that Auto-Type uses.

I have three possible alternative or additional suggestions to this:

  1. copy the TOTP automatically to the clipboard after a successful auto-type. Two downsides: I'm not sure if there is a hook for that and it might be unexpected and might erase something important in the clipboard (could be restored after a paste, but at any rate this might not be the right way).
  2. when auto-typing, add just that ONE TOTP to the context menu in a very prominent place. Only do so for about a minute or so (i do not want to clutter this menu, I just want easy access).

Possible downside might be that there might be no hook for that.
  3. on every auto-type with a TOTP attached, add a notification with the code to notification center (win+A!), clicking the notification copies the TOTP. (or it could also be displayed in that notification, I'm not sure if there are downsides to just displaying it up front).
