KaTeX in Gatsbyjs not rendering

I am hoping a kind soul would help me with getting katex to render with markdown using GatsbyJS. I have tried everything...and I don't know why it does not work.

I made a post on stackoverflow but noone responded yet.

After my stackoverflow, I just went back to this in my gatsby-config.js:

resolve: "gatsby-transformer-remark",
      options: {
        plugins: [
          {
            resolve: `gatsby-remark-katex`,
            options: {
              // Add any KaTeX options from https://github.com/KaTeX/KaTeX/blob/master/docs/options.md here
              strict: `ignore`
            },
          },

And then added the import statement import "katex/dist/katex.min.css" into every relevant file because I simply cannot see where this should be put.

If someone has time to take a look, I would be much appreciative. If wanting to reproduce, I would prefer sending the code/project "in private".
