Single line which fails to render?

I've written a blog post here. Everything KaTeX related seems to work great, besides the single line roughly 1 pagelength down which displays as:

[\Delta_p(f) = \max_{\substack{x, y\in\mathbb{N}^{|\mathcal{X}|}\ \lVert x-y\rVert_1 = 1}} \lVert f(x) - f(y)\rVert_p]

Rather than rendering. All other lines display exactly as I expect. I'm fairly inept at web-dev (which is why the website is a fork from the "Jekyll-Now" repository).

Also, all of this works when I build things locally. Just when I deploy to github pages, nearly everything compiles + renders correctly, but that line doesn't render correctly for some reason.

I decided to rewrite that particular line from scratch (as one does when a line of latex doesn't compile), and it fixed everything. I have results now, but no enlightenment --- in particular I am confused why locally it worked fine. Oh well.

Anyway feel free to disregard/delete this post.
