Directly edit current selection without erasing the whole selection.

Hi, everyone.

I am using the createable select. We are using it like a combination of textbox and select.

Is it possible to directly edit the text (like a text box) without clearing the whole field when I start typing? Our users are in the older demographic and they somehow expected it to work like a textbox when they edit and create.

Edit: I've noticed this has been asked by #5760 but there seems to be no reply yet. Any idea guys? Thanks.
