@types/node 15.9.0 breaks build with @types/express 4.17.12

I'm building an Express web server with @types/express 4.17.12. I was using @types/node 15.6.2 and my build was fine. When I update @types/node to 15.9.0 or later, I get an error on one of my app.use function calls:

app.use(express.json())

No overload matches this call.
  The last overload gave the following error.
    Argument of type 'NextHandleFunction' is not assignable to parameter of type 'PathParams'.
      Type 'NextHandleFunction' is missing the following properties from type '(string | RegExp)[]': pop, push, concat, join, and 27 more.ts(2769)

I see that in @types/node 15.9.0, the following line was added to the OutgoingMessage definition in http.d.ts:

readonly req: IncomingMessage;

If I comment out this one line my build works fine, so it looks like maybe this change broke compatibility with @types/express.
